The magnificient architectural work of modern architecture, a symbol and a veduta of the Tara River Canyon, is the grand Djurdjevica Tara Bridge. It is located between the villages of Budecevica and Tresnjica. The bridge was built between 1937 and 1940 and designed by Mijat S.Trojanovich. When finished, the bridge was the biggest wooden construction in the world and a biggest-tallest vehicular concrete arch bridge in Europe. The bridge has five arches; the largest span is 116 meters. Due to its strong five-arch construction, it rises 150 meters above the canyon.
